Why I wanted to take this class
I wanted to take this class because, as a computer science major who will be working in an ever evolving digital landscape, it will become increasingly important to understand how humans interact with new technologies. In order to develop effective technology, it is crucial to understand how humans interact with it. I think this class will help me understand this interaction and teach me how to observe it in the future.

Television, specifically sci fi/fantasy shows on HBO or comedies on Hulu.

Social media is a major part of my media use, specifically Twitter and Snapchat.

Email is used daily as well, primarily for academic and professional correspondence.

Texting and Phone calls.

Everyone seems to be taking this class because of the increasing impact of media in our current landscape the students' propensity towards technology and their desire to understand how technology and humanity will be affect each other in the future.

Most people are using television, specifically streaming services like Netflix, social media, such as twitter, instagram, snapchate, and other methods of communication like SMS texting and GroupMe.

The TAMU students who took this class in 2004 seem to have wanted to take the class for many of the same reasons that we did. They knew that the media landscape was changing, they were intereseted in working in computer science, an inherently media intensive field, and they wanted to learn how to best create technologies for a world with changing interactions with technology.

While students still consumed the same media- TV, movies, and music- they did so using very different mediums. For example, instead of streaming movies and music, they utilized traditional TV, CDs, and DVDs. Much of the same kind of content was consumed, it was just the way which they got that media was different.
